Privacy Policy

SwatBrowser ("the App") is an iOS web browser developed and operated by HBKL Labs LLC. SwatBrowser blocks intrusive pop-ups, popunders, sneaky redirects, and other abusive page behavior so you can browse the web without being ambushed. This privacy policy explains what the App does and does not do with your information.

The short version

• There is no account, no sign-in, and no backend that stores who you are.
• Your browsing history, tabs, bookmarks, and page content stay on your device.
• We do not sell your data, and we do not show you ads.
• The App sends anonymized shield telemetry (counts of blocked page behaviors, with no personal information and no record of what you browsed) so we can keep the pop-up shield effective.

No account, no backend profile

SwatBrowser has no user accounts and no registration. There is no server that holds a profile for you. Your browsing happens on your device, and the App does not upload your history, your tabs, your bookmarks, or the contents of the pages you visit.

What stays on your device

The following is stored locally on your iPhone and is never transmitted to us:

• Browsing history. The sites you visit and the pages you open.
• Tabs and sessions. Your open tabs and their state.
• Bookmarks and saved pages. Anything you choose to keep.
• Page content. The text, images, and data on the pages you load.
• App settings. Your shield preferences and per-site choices.

Anonymized shield telemetry

To keep the pop-up shield working against real-world abusive pages, the App sends a small amount of anonymized telemetry to a Firebase project operated by HBKL Labs (project ID swatbrowser-767a2). This telemetry records blocked-element events, for example that a pop-up, popunder, scripted-tab ad, redirect, interstitial gate, clickjack overlay, or similar page behavior was detected and blocked.

This telemetry:

• Contains no personal information and no identifiers that point back to you.
• Does not include your browsing history or the content of the pages you visit. It records that a category of abusive behavior was blocked, not what you were reading.
• Is used only to measure and improve the effectiveness of the shield.

Firebase is a Google service. Its handling of the data it receives is governed by Google's privacy practices: Firebase Privacy.

What we do NOT collect

• Your name, email, or any account identifier (there is no account).
• Your browsing history or the content of pages you visit.
• Location data, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera access.
• Cross-app or cross-site tracking identifiers.
• Advertising data. The App shows no ads and works with no ad networks.

Subscriptions

SwatBrowser offers optional subscriptions through Apple's StoreKit 2. Purchases and their validation are handled entirely by Apple. We do not run a payment server and we never see your card details. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Related surfaces

The SwatBrowser project also includes a Safari content blocker and a free Chrome extension. Those tools filter abusive page behavior locally in their respective browsers and do not add any separate collection of your browsing history or personal data beyond what is described here.

No data sold or shared for advertising

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only data that leaves your device is the anonymized shield telemetry described above.

Children's privacy

SwatBrowser does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App has no account system and keeps browsing on-device, there is no personal profile to collect. If you believe a child has been affected in a way this policy does not address, please contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date. Minor edits, such as typos or clarifications, may happen without notice.
